Tavrida Electric brings 130 Year old tram line into the 21st century

Tavrida Electric is taking part in the reconstruction of the Kopli tram line, working in cooperation with TET Estel AS and Secheron SA. The main contractors of this project are Bauschmidt OÜ and AS TREF Nord.
The length of the reconstructed line is 16 kilometers from the center of Tallinn to the  terminal depot. The scope for works and supply will be: new power lines and support structures, full reconstruction of the old substation and the construction of 2 completely new substations. The substation equipment will be connected with SCADA.  Commencement of the project has been confirmed and work has started. The project is expected to be complete by October 2017.
Tavrida Electric brings its innovative and reliable 12kV MILE switchgear to this reconstruction and also provides full control of the substation equipment through the SCADA system.
Tavrida Electric and TET Estel AS will work together to supervise all of the installation and commissioning work on the site.
Substations will provide electricity not only to this line under renovation , but also  to other tram lines and distribution substations of the electricity grid as back-up incoming feeders. After the completion of the tram line reconstruction, passengers will be able to experience 21st century Tallinn city transport comfort and reliability.
