Tavrida Electric on Philippines

Within the framework of the state project for the automation of 10 (20) kV distribution networks, in Metro Manila, the Philippines’ largest region, Tavrida Electric has performed the first delivery of reclosers to the Philippines. This was done in cooperation with PPI Pazifik Power, an engineering company that specializes in supplying local electric utilities with high-quality equipment for the production and distribution of electricity. In total, the pilot project included 20 reclosers.

In developing further relations, Tavrida Electric’s specialists were invited to the head office of a partner in Manila. During the three-day visit, PPI Pazifik Power employees were trained to use and maintain Tavrida Electric’s reclosers. The company also organized several seminars for regional electric utilities, who were satisfied with the quality and functionality of the reclosers. Following the negotiations, a decision was made to expand cooperation and supply new equipment. Thus, at the beginning of 2018, the supply of another 20 reclosers is scheduled and will be distributed among the regional electric cooperatives (Peninsula Electric Cooperative, Dava Light and Power Corporation, etc.).

At the end of 2018, in order to create the best consolidation in the region, a certificate of compliance is planned for Tavrida Electric reclosers in the largest distribution utility, Manila Electric Company (MERALCO), which covers 36 cities and 75 municipalities and serves over 6 million customers.

At the end of last year, PPI Pazifik Power, as partners of the company, introduced Tavrida Electric’s reclosers at its stand, during the conference and electricity exhibition IIEE. This was organized by the Association of Electrical Engineers of the Philippines. At the conference, the recloser’s functionality was demonstrated to all comers. Particular attention was paid to the integration of this product into SCADA for remote monitoring and control.
