Tavrida Electric’s seminars in Oman

In the autumn of 2017, Tavrida Electric carried out several seminars on the automation of distribution networks featuring Tavrida reclosers and other switchgear medium voltage equipment. The seminars were held for the main grid companies responsible for electricity supply in the Sultanate of Oman.

Representatives of Mazoon Electricity Company (MZEC), Majan Electricity Company (MJEC), Rural Areas Electricity Company (RAECO), as well as the official representative of Tavrida Electric in Oman - Zubair Electric - took part in the seminars. In total, the event was attended by more than 30 people.

During the seminars, case studies were presented that focused on recloser applications for the automation of overhead lines, the effective line self-healing REZIP algorithm, the construction and modernization of outdoor switchgear and FDIR systems. Great interest was generated by the new TELSCADA product, which is used to deploy a SCADA system “from scratch”, to integrate the existing equipment into SCADA and to create automated workplaces for the operating staff. Tavrida vacuum reclosers have been well known and widely used in Oman since 2011. More than 300 units are now in operation, therefore special attention was paid to discussing the customer benefits of having local technical support with a quick response time.

Participants highly appreciated and enjoyed the open discussions, as a continuation of successful cooperation and contribution to improving the quality of the Omani electricity networks.
