IEEE 2010 Exhibition - New Orleans
With approximately 11,000 attendees, the IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Conference and Exposition in New Orleans, LA was well attended despite the disruption of flights from Europe due to the Icelandic volcano eruption. Tavrida Electric North America exhibited their complete medium voltage product range from indoor circuit breakers and retrofits to reclosers and outdoor circuit breakers.
The compactness of Tavrida circuit breakers was attractive due to the potential of saving costs on switchgear enclosure and ease of integration.
The 38kV circuit breaker received a lot of attention due to its design and ratings. With 1200A and weighing less than 200lb, it can be mounted horizontally or vertically and will save on installation costs. Utilities were pleased to learn that Tavrida reclosers have the ability to interface with the SEL 351R or 651R.
Tavrida also exhibited its compact retrofit solution for ITE 5HK 250. Other popular retrofit solutions based on DHP and Magneblast were also discussed.
